In Canada we have mandated DRL's which use the low beam at reduced voltage for the DRL's, so you cannot make this conversion on a Canadian vehicle with out a lot of problems. Now if you are not in Canada you should be able to install a high quality 4300K conversion kit and probably no one would be able to tell any difference. I went with the Limited with turbo as the HID's was the deciding factor.īoth vehicle use projector headlights with the exception being that one use quartz bulbs and the other use HID bulbs. Price wise it was identical in AWD mode comparison. With some current model vehicles still coming factory. Both are shot at the same angle, same camera + settings, the same stretch of road, and you can see the distance and flood gain in the LEDs. With the Limited I could not get the paddle shifters or black grille. Below is a comparison between a STEDI Copper Head H4 LED Conversion (Left), compared to the factory fitted Halogen (Right), in a 2007 Mitsubishi Triton. With the Sport I could not get HID's or Turbo. HID lighting uses 35w vs 55w for halogen lighting. HID lighting requires less energy consumption than halogen lighting. Since HID lights do not have a filament in them that could burn out like halogen lights, HID light bulbs can last 2000-3000 hours vs 450-1000 hours for halogen light bulbs. I was torn between the Sport and the Limited. HID light bulbs also last longer than halogen lights. They’re also the most energy-efficient among the three types and the most durable as well. LED lights fall somewhere in between the two, giving off a brighter light than halogens but less than HIDs. If anything fails it's likely going to be the relay or the ballast. They’re brighter and more durable than halogen light, but they tend to give off a higher glare compared to the other two. Don't want a single point of failure to take out both headlights. The average HID light produces about 3,000 lumens, compared with 1,400 lumens for halogen bulbs (lumens measure how bright lightbulbs are). When you intall a kit I would make sure to make your own harness with a relay on both lights. I would still go OEM wherever possible for reliability. Ainsi, alors que les ampoules classiques consomment entre 25 et 100 Watts, les ampoules halogènes ont une puissance qui varie de 150 à 500 Watts. brightness of a headlight is regulated by the DOT. Also it's safe for oncoming traffic as it's a projector system. À lheure où léclairage représente environ 10 du montant total de votre facture délectricité, on constate de grandes différences en fonction des ampoules utilisées. The brightness of a HID light is about the same as the LED, I think Jaguar design it that way, the max. They are an open design so potential heat damage is minimal as kit bulbs run much hotter than OEM bulbs. Three times brighter than standard halogen bulbs, this HID lighting system lasts five times longer and consumes 35 percent less power. The stock bi-halogen projectors are actually quite good and are safe for use with a HID kit. I am not a fan of HID kits but the Edge is an exception where it is not bad.
